This is my first post on the forum, but i've been perusing it for a few months now for pearls of wisdom
About 4 weeks ago I finally decided to make a drastic change in my lifestyle. For years I had been almost in a state of semi-depression about the way I looked and how I felt about myself. My self-confidence hit an all-time low when I was 6'2 241 lbs and finally I decided that rather than feeling sorry about myself I would do something about it. My main problem was that I had tried to go to gyms before, but always found excuses not to go, "It's too far", "I'm too tired", "I'll go tomorrow". Needless to say that was really not going to work, so I decided on the next best approach: To bring the gym to myself.
I bought a few pieces of used home gym equipment like a punching bag, total gym, chin-up bar, exercise ball, and a heart rate monitor and went to town. Now 28 days later of relatively intensive cardio and some weight training to maintain what I have I've dropped ~ 4 pant sizes (from a 38 to a 34) and lost about 31 pounds. I'm still about 20 lbs or so shy of my goal but really all it takes is some commitment and any goal is achievable!
