Hi All...

My goal on this site is to find a way that will work well for me to lose the weight and maintain it. I am a very busy person, like most of us here.. so time is a big factor in my life at the moment. I am 19 years old, FT student w/ FT Job. I am from St. Petersburg FL.

Recently, I had signed up for Team in Training walkathon, but unfortunately, I won't be able to participate this year.

Also, I recently just found out I am "hypothyroid" as well.

Any ideas, on how I can start acheiving my goal? All help and suggestions are appreciated.

Welcome. It's hard when you are busy. I know. You end up getting so hungry because you haven't eaten all day then you end up grabbing whatever possible to eat. Do you eat at home or on the run?

I am 19 as well Miss! I work FT in a KITCHEN!!! And we always have yummy sweets and fatty naughty foods! I try to avoid them, but by the end of the day it gets the best of me, you know.

Hi Miss!

Welcome to the forum. I'm pretty new too. I just love this site. You'll get to meet some really great people on here that are very supportive.

This probably isn't going to be news to you but I say form a workout plan first, that is crucial. The more you move and burn calories the less likely you are to sabatoge your hard work, plus you'll feel better.

As for what approach to take in regard to nutrition, I say experiment and see what works best for you. I remember when I was 19. It was great because my body responded much faster to exercise and diet. Since then I've tried many different diets. I've yet to be successful at a "lifestyle change" as they say, but I'm working on it.
