Hi everyone,

I am 5'6" and weigh 157 lbs. Ten of these lbs are from my pregnancy. Hopefully, I can shed those 10 and then some within the next 2 months. I am breastfeeding and am planning to do so for a whole year. So, I am not sure if I should go overboard with my weight loss until then. Looking for tips, advice, support and lots of motivation!

My main problem is laziness. I have always been a little on the heavy side and after my marriage, I have been overweight. Even if I start exercising/dieting, I am unable to sustain it for a long time. The longest I can stay on a "weight loss mode" is probably a week. So, HELP!!!

Hey Girl! Sounds like we are in the same boat. Congrats on your little girl- is this your first? They are fun! Isn't is amazing that being at home- as busy as you feel with a baby- you still find time to eat?! Sometimes I feel like my eating is so out of control because I think I may not have time to eat later-- ahhhhh!!! Crazy! I would love to support each other in losing these pregnancy pounds along with a little extra! I am BF as well and plan on doing it for a year. I do get worried about the whole diet thing with BF- I don't want to jeapordize my "healthy milk!" You know what I mean? Anyways- I go back to work in Sept (I teach) and am afraid that I won't fit into my work clothes. It is very frustating. One nice thing about being at home- I didn't have to put on my kakhi pants. I have been living in comfy shorts. Plus- no matter how much weight I lose- I have an extra 10 pounds in my chest it seems!!! Yikes! Well- I hope to chat more with ya and work out a great support system. Good luck and congrats again on that baby girl! ~Jod :)

I don't have any advice on how to diet healthfully while breastfeeding, but for being lazy, what kinds of active things do you enjoy doing? If you enjoy hiking, you could go hiking in a safe area or else you could walk. If you enjoy sports, you could take up tennis or swimming or practice a sport you like more often. Unlike you, I enjoy working out and when I sweat it just shows me that I'm working hard, but my biggest problem (especially during the summer) is that I don't want to leave the house. So I bought exercise videos and so far they have been working well for me. If you already have a DVD or VCR, it's only a $20 or $25 investment so it's not much. Thinking about it, that may be a good choice for you since you do have children and may need to cut your exercise short or in half sometimes. There are tons of different videos out there and I've heard there are also exercise shows on TV (tho I think they are early in the morning) so you might try looking for those. Hope that helps you, good luck!!!

New Mum aswell!!

Hi, I'm new here. I have a 3 month old son and I'm loving being a Mum but I put on 3 stone!! (that's 42lbs I think in American) I am also breastfeeding but have lost 2 stone already on the Slimming World plan without going hungry. I want to lose at least another stone though and I should be able to as I am losing 2-3 lbs a week. I hate being overweight, I've always been slim and sexy and having a baby made a mess of my body which has been very difficult to deal with. I think that's why I find it easy to have willpower for slimming- I simply refuse to be fat!! The diet is not fadish though and you can eat as much as you want of 'free foods' (fruit and veg etc.) If anyone wants the diet please email me (I am not charging any money here, just offering a kindness) Good luck everyone.

surfingbernard- I would be interested in looking at the diet you have. Can you email me... sawyer@cpinternet.com Thanks!!
