hi all! i have an upper body question!

hi all

so glad to find a forum like this... im just getting into excersing and could do with a few tips... im a guy in my early 30's with a good shape to my legs ( i do a lot of walking and more recently cycling) and my arms but am really wanting to work on my upper body... im not at all fat although i am starting to get a belly which i dont want to develop any further.. more than that my upper body seems shapeless and looks chunky when ive clothes on than it actually is... i cant figure out why but really want to do something about it....... any tips on where to start or sites to check out?

Basic stuff:
-Eat right and drink lots of water
-Train full body to adapt your body to movements....keep it functional....and burn optimal calories
- More free weights than machines (including hammer strength and smith squat machine)
- Repeat for many days to come

and just lurk around here...ask questions when you have them, but just reading what other people post and the replies will steer you in the right direction.

i like t-nation, but it can be intimidating, and their focus there is being rather beefed up and strong...they just take it extreme. if you can deal with that, they have a lot of great info.
