Hi,

Im 3 months maybe 3.5 months into my weight loss journey. I am 35, 6'1, 183 cm.

Before i started i was 124kg, 273Lbs, (obese)

Now i am 107kg, 236Lbs,

Ive been following the noom program which has worked well for me. In the beginning the articles were great but the quality has notibly dropped more recently.

Its based on calorie counting which i love, perhaps my favourable reaction to this might be down to my aspergers. I dont know how most people react to counting calories...i know one person for whom it agrevates an eating disorder.

Recently i had a bit of a fall in motivation for several reasons.

I need a forum for weight loss like here as nooms social aspect isnt enough for me. Hoping to make some weight loss buddies

Hey, welcome! Its always good to talk to others going through the same thing.

Hi, Hark & welcome to the forum. Congratulations on losing 17 kg already! I know that you are counting calories but what does your usual day's food look like? Does noom suggest specific meals or food or do you just track what you eat? I hope you find that motivation to continue on. Being healthy & active improves almost all aspects of your life.

Ty guys

Cate to answer your question, noom doesnt advocate one style of eating (low carb, keto, paleo etc) but whatever style works for the individual, so they encourage us to try different things to see what works.

They do emphasise unprocessing our diet so we are eating whole, unprocessed foods, not drinking our calories, drinking plenty of water, being mindful of what we eat so we tune into our satiety signals and really enjoy the food we eat.

For most of my time on the course i was having between 1500 and 1800 calories a day, they give me a range to work in between. Recently as they reduced my calorie allowance to between 1400 and 1600 i found that this made me feel unwell so now i eat between 1500 and 1900 at a slower estimated weight loss of 0.7 kg or 1.5lb a week while before it was more like 1kg or 2.2lbs a week of weight loss.

I will have a breakfast of maybe:

50g oats
1 cup of milk
6g choclate powder
For 400 calories.

Lunch
100g kale
Half a tin of chickpeas
100-150g chicken
Tbs olive oil
2tsp cooking oil
For about 500-600 calories

Dinner
400g carrots
100-150g chicken
Tbs olive oil
For about 500-600 calories

Then depending how i feel snacks of fruit or natural yoghurt of upto 200-300 calories

I measure things pretty precisely in practice these are just approximatations without my app doing the counting

That sounds like good, sound advice. Your daily "diet" seems sound & nutritious. I'm sure you will continue to lose weight & at a slower pace, which will be healthier & more sustainable.

Ty Cate, its served me well, the advice theyve given me i mean.

Ty you again for your encouragement

Hi Hark, I congratulate you on your perseverance and success. I hope the forum will help you in your further fight x
