Hey

Hey guys, been looking for a forum to get some tips from some pro's as I jsut started going the gym. Im 17 soon to be 18 in september and im around 6.1ft.

I originaly joined as I went to spain for 2+ weeks and the excess beer and chinese all you can eat for only 9 euros was taking its toll, but I loved it as there is nothing better than pushing yourself hard and then having a nice shower afterwards you just feel so great. I recently started eating healthy also (with a question about this ill post in a sec) and I just feel so good about myself. But now I have decided to make it a full time thing to try and turn my weedy 6.2ft frame into something abit more better looking and to keep myself fit as I am soon to spend my life on a computer doing a computer science degree!

I was told by the guy who gave me my induction I should get ripped pretty quick as im quite lean and if I eat the right foods, so fingers crossed I wont be a peter crouch look alike much longer!

Thanks alot guys

Computer Science degree.... snap! Just finished mine though. Where you taking yours?

Welcome to the forum, hope you follow the claret and blue side of the city ;)

Not put my choices through yet. De Montford Leicester, Birmingham are apparently good but I have no idea! I want to go Sheffield but its abit far so would mean moving, getting in debt and no financial aid off parents!
Claret and blue...your joking right ;)

you've got to move when you go to uni, seriously.

live at home you miss out on it all.

i did a year doing economics first - hated it - lived at home as well.
moved into halls the year after for start of computer science, best 3 years of my life (hence why im here now getting rid of the beer gut!)

Oh and geek alert here: but if you havent already - avoid C++ like its the plague.

Why not the claret and blue - all the rest are f*cking ****e ;)

I dunno I think id rather fancy staying at home especially as some of the best for CS are not too far from me. I have not met C++ though have read up on it, surely doing CS I wont be able to avoid it! I dont mind though love every inch of computing, hence the need to work out as im looking to be spending the rest of my life on my ass!

Seriously if you get the chance to use Java instead (most universties offer the choice) take it - dont have to worry about memory management, garbage disposal etc.

Thanks for the tip, I shall keep that in mind!
