Hey question. I just finished lifting and I'm out of my carb supplement

Allright so I just finished lifting and had a blonde moment and forgot to order a new carb supplement. So I'm out and I don't know what type of carbs to get with my protien. All i knew previously was to get a carb supplement that has all carbs from maltrodextrin. However I don't think I have any foods that are high in that carb, What i do have, is mostly whole foods breads and lots of diff type of fruits, but my mom does have some sweets in the house since maltrodextrin is like a sugar i'm assuming the next best carb for after lifting is a sugar but I don't understand how it helps after a lift and the biology behind it. What kind of carbs should i get natural sugars, added sugars a diff carb? I don't know what to eat = or drink with my protien shake =/ PLease ne advice would be really appreciated and also I'm kinda curious why is it maltrodextrin is used after lifting?
 
Use a banana! Ive always found that good.
