how much should i work out for these things to help me?
Ballzey said:is the weight all muscle? and do all you eat is those shakes? i heard they are pretty pricey also. Would i have to do extra cardio to burn off the extra fat the shake would give me? or would it only increase my muscle size and not any fat?
junkfoodbad said:I think you have the wrong idea of what a protein shake does. Its not some magic drink that adds mass to your body. You need to take in a certain amount of protein during the day (as a general rule, 1g per lb of your body weight). If you find it hard to take that all in through foods, then you take protein shakes to supplement it.
And what PB said, do not make this your main source of protein. try to get as much as you can through regular foods.

malkore said:and yours is just plain whey.
mines 4 types of whey, plus egg albumen, and BCAA's
malkore said:I'm saying yours is inexpensive whey, and mine is a more complex blend of more than cheap whey.
yours is great for post workout, mines probably better....but mine's also good any time of day, where yours would need some healthy fat added to slow down digestion.
pure whey just digests so fast that its not as 'ideal' as was once thought.
if you want an idea on how much different protein types cost, look at or
They let you design custom protein blends, and you can see the cost different per pound.
The cheapest whey is like $2 a pound, while the more expensive stuff is $7+ a pound.
and i'm not trying to be snooty...all proteins are not created equally.

Cynic said:Well, you found a good deal (even though that shipping cost is real high) and I think All-the-whey is supposed to be pretty decent. Write up an opinion once you try it.
taste and mixibility are key factors to look for.
Try mixing in a blender, should be easy. Then try a shaker bottle. Any naglene or sealable bottle will do. Then try a simple stir.
