Hey guys! need some help

Hey guys
im new here, id like to become a part of this forum.

what brought me here is that i need help in my supplement taking,
im rather new and i want to become experienced.
ive been told that superpump 250 is a bad supplement to take and wrecks your body. the times i used,(roughly 5 days) i rather thought it was good.I then had a accident and frigged up my routine i was getting into.Im skeptical now about superpump.
i need advice.
im 165 pounds, roughly 5'9 to 5'10 and im by no means fat.(unsure of fat percentage.)

Id like to build over all more muscle and tone my body Nicley.
what are some good suppliments to start out?
any tips guys?

i appreciate the help in advance
jeff

Start with the basics. Make sure you are eating enough. Make sure you are on a well rounded workout program and train hard enough.

As far as supplements go starting basic is good here to. If you are eating decently you can use a protein supplement to fill in the gaps.

Taking a good Multi-Vitamin is also a good idea.

After that glutamine helps with the recovery process.

I am sure you will get other opinions as well.

How long have you been working out and eating right consistenly? Thats important.

Supplements are not magic but here is what I like: creatine, protein powder, fish oil, and multivitamin.

well.im not a unheathly person,i eat farliy well round, but i could cut back on sweet stuff a bit.
im a good runner, but recentley i am looking at some weight training.

as one of the guys stated would starting with a good multi-vitiamen be a good start? maybe a bit protien along with better eating habits.

any reccomendations on a good multi-supp

ps:im not great at spelling ^^

a good multi-vitamin is Source Naturals brand, Life Force.

Any Whey protein powder is fine...I like Optimum Nutrition cuz it tastes decent.

Skip glutamine...it doesn't help.
Tony covered the list pretty well as far as what actually works. MOST supplements are very effective at draining your wallet, and not much else (NO2/NO-Xplode, fancy Creatine products, etc)

haha appreciate the tips man,ill kkep that in mind.

as to say routines any suggestions? just take as much as each product tells me each and everyday?

i was planning on a semi-intense workout every 2nd day.consisteting of a nice jog along with some weights.im mainly going for upper body

Dude Suggests...

I can't answer for others but from MY personal experience you have good suggestions from other posters.

I am taking NO Explode I buy online pretty cheap. I have had success with it.

What ever you hear/read test for yourself. We are all offering opinions. Some better than others.

I don't like superpump but my gym owner loves it.

IF you find the perfect split let me know.

NO Xplode is a ****ty way to get your creatine, since the NO2 in it doesn't do anything beneficial.

its also full of caffine and taurine...which can make some people real jittery (its like a Redbull)

if you want creatine, buy straight monohydrate, or straight ethyl ester. creatine isn't a magical substance to begin with, so there's no reason to pay out the ass for 'fancy' creatine.

Most Honorable Dude,

I get my creatine from Cellmass after the workout. NO Explode before to get my "up" before hitting the weights after a hard days work.

a cup of black coffee will get you 'up' for hitting the weights too. or a sugar free Redbull.

I also just heard about a study where NO2 supplementation was shown to lower HGH levels. not cool at all. sure its just one study, but since the NO2 part doesn't do anything beneficial, why include it in your pre-workout supps?

At least taurine + caffine gives you a little boost.

Coffee/Redbull/Caffeine are stimulants whereas the OP wanted a supplement(s). Stimulants may affect the ability of some people to fall asleep.

Suppliments

I also think starting out with a good whey protein powder, multivitamin, and maybe fish or flaxseed oil.

I like the Optimum Nutrition also because it has no added "fluff" in it. Mostly just pure whey protein. It tastes ok with water and better with milk but I wouldn't drink it with milk too often. Only as a treat and when I do use milk I use sweet acidpholous milk which is like 1% but some added healthy bacteria that also adds taste.

As for a multivitam I just went to GNC and had them recommend one but I didn't get one of the "weightlifting" ones with added "extras" in it. I just wanted vitamins pure and simple.

I've worked out before sporadicly but recently started to get serious with my diet and workout program and these things really seem to be helping me. I've been trying to eat clean and not put so much crap in my mouth which I was notorious for in the past. I've been called the human garbage disposal because I would clean everyone's plate before the scraps were thrown away!

I'm changing all that and it feels great.

I've also been reading Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto which really talks about getting the lean look with no supplements besides pretty much what I've talkd about.

Good luck!
