Help

I got a track meet 16 days from now, And I really want to improve big time in my speed and strength when im running. Now I usualy run short-middle distances so I need to work on my endurance and speed.
So far im planning on doing barbell squats for my quads but thats all I can think of is there any other thing I can do to improve and how many sets/reps would you recomend?
Thanks, help would be appreciated!

Biggest Help

When I was in track in highschool the biggest help to me was interval training. Sprinting 30 seconds, jogging 30 seconds... then do 60 seconds and 90 seconds. It's a hard workout and it really shows on the day of the race. Don't do too much though... I'm sure your coach already works you hard enough.
