Hey guys, second post on these forums, looking for a bit of advice about what training program to use to get into shape for a long (several month) bicycle tour.
I'm 22, male 178cm/68kg or 70in/150lbs. I have never been especially strong but I took it upon myself to start some body weight training a few months ago, and I built a set of rings at my home to do pull-up routines on. Unfortunately, I moved to Korea about a month ago, and I'm now situated in a really rural mountainous village which has definitely thrown me off my fitness game. I have always been an on-again-off-again distance runner, completing my first marathon 6 months ago but I haven't run serious distance since then.
I've never cycled at all, pretty much, so I'm looking for a training program that can start pretty much from step one. One thing I do have at my disposal is a lot of filly terrain, since I'm in the mountains.
I have always been extremely health conscious but, again, being here has severely limited my food options and since I don't speak/read Korean very well the health facts of any processed food I buy are a total mystery to me, so I'm sure my diet could be improved upon as well.
Ultimately, I'd like to lose a bit of weight, get (back) in aerobic shape, and learn how to bike for distance. Thanks for the advice anyone can offer!
