Weight-Loss Help With Snack Choices?

Some stuff I find myself snacking on;

protein shake, almonds, natural peanut butter, whole wheat english muffins with either a little butter or the PB, string cheese, fruit (esp apples), yogurt with fruit or honey, bowl of oatmeal...
 
Some snacks I like:
Nuts - for the protein, omega 3 fats, and fiber
Soynuts - Protein, fiber
Low fat string cheese - protein, calcium
Beef jerky - protein
Popcorn, air popped, no butter - Fiber, whole grain
Raw vegetables with hummus dip

The hummus I think is a better choice than your ranch dressing, which probably has a fair amount of sugar in it.
 
Thanks a lot you guys! I'll try some of the snacks you all posted up & yea your right I should stay away from the ranch dip!
 
One piece of advice is to try to get some protein in with every snack. So apple alone - not so great. Apple + peanut butter or apple + string cheese... much better. Protein and fiber in every snack will help keep you full even longer.

I'm a big fan of veggies & hummus for snacking. I also like apple + low fat cottage cheese, roasted soy beans, almonds (they have a little of everything!), Greek yogurt + frozen pomegranate. I buy the "Weight Control" oatmeal because it has more protein - although you can just add whey protein isolate in yourself if you're so inclined. Or eat the oatmeal with a higher protein food. I do grab a Fiber One bar or similar from time to time (the one with dark chocolate and almonds) but I try to make it a rare occurrence.
 
Just be sure you don't oversnack. Some of the items suggested has a decent calorie count you need to keep in mind as well.
