Hi i lost some weight and im still trying to maintain it right now im 147ish i gained about 10lbs in the past couple of months because of medication im on and it went right to my belly which is frustrating me because now i want to lose more weight but my dr tells me i should gain weight/muscle, but i cannot seem to gain muscle i eat about 120+g protien a day and do some weight lifting and treadmill daily but i cannot gain any muscle, anyway im wondering how many calories based on my weight(147) height(5'10) and age(22) and activity level(moderate) and so such do i need to maintain my weight? I used a calculator and it said 3100cal but that seems like alot, so i think somethings wrong. Also how important are carb/fat/prot ratios in the diet? I eat quite a but of carbs(alot of fiber about 75g/day) and low fat, like less that 40g day. Im just not sure what to do anymore i feel like i have been doing it all wrong and my food is all messed up but i have been eating the same way for like the past two years which is about 1 year to lose it and another year maintaining. Any help would be great.

It wouldn't be wise of any of us to try and speak against the advice of your doctor. If your doctor says that you should gain weight and muscle, that's what you should be trying to do instead of losing or maintaining your weight.

This may not be what you wanted to hear. But it's my personal opinion that you should listen to your doctor over people on the internet who do not know you or your medical history.

well i dont mind gaining some weight as long as its muscle im already disgusted with my stomach fat as it is, my BF % is about 15% but i feel as its like 50.
