Sport help with a new diet

Hello. I am 5'10 225 pounds. I am 22 years old. I need to get back into a little better shape because of a health problem I had. Do any of you guys know any kind of diet layout or examples I could use. I have an atheltic look accept for junk food and beer gut. I need to get that a lot better. I am looking to get around 180-185 pounds and also do cardio and some weight training. I dont understand a lot of the nutrition. thanks.
