help wanted

Hey guys,
I am an 18 year old kid in good shape. I run 3 to 4 miles three or four times a week and I also box every now and then. I recently lost about 35 pounds but now I want to start gaining muscle and get toned. i have done a lot of research on the site but I am still unsure of where to start. I do have access to free weights like dumbbells and ab machines at the boxing gym but other than that I don't have much. I was wondering specific exercises I could do to tone my arm and upper body muscles. I do not want to get really bulky. Btw, I am about 5' 9" and 148 pounds. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hi there!
You seem to be off to a good start by running 3 or 4 times a week. It sounds like your body and some dumbells will be all you need to get fit. I would start off by breaking up my muscles into groups. Some muscles assist each other and it's good to work on those muscles on the same day. For example, the chest and tricep muscles assist one another so those are two good groups to put together. For chest, i would do pushups and bench pressing with dumbells. For triceps, do overhead dips and kickbacks. The next day you may want to work on your back and biceps. Once again, for back try dumbell rows and for the biceps, do dumbell curls. Do shoulders on another day, and then legs on another day. There is so much you can do with free weights. With legs you can do squats, dead lifts, and with shoulders you can do overhead presses with dumbells. The important thing is to break up the muscle groups so your muscles don't become too fatigued.
I hope this helps!
