Help wanted

Hi guys,

I'm new to all of this however I have been training in the gym for a few years on and off. Struggle when I have to train on my own. I have gained a bit of weight which I'm very unhappy about and struggling to sort it all out. I've found out I have a under active thyroid which doesn't help. I struggle to stop the soda(Coke) and I can't drink plain water so having to drink still flavoured water. Wondering what type of diets people would suggest?

there are two ways to do low carbs successfully:
1) low carbs work because many people eat garbage for carbs, so if you do low carbs, you eliminated the junk. However, eating plant-based carbs is healthy ... it's what we are meant to eat
2) Ketosis ... I don't recommend this because it can be dangerous if not done correctly or if there are other medical conditions to worry about. I did it for a bit and liked it, but it's really hard to maintain, especially if you are living with a family
 
You can't drink plain water or you won't drink plain water?

Slow thyroid? In my non-physician opinion, the best medicine for hypothyroid is Armor. That is what Hillary Clinton takes.

As to diet recommendations that would depend on your body. I can tell you that the leanest and healthiest people in the world are the rural Chinese and the 7th day Adventists in California and they get 70% of their calories from plant-based carbohydrates. Read the China study.

If I were to recommend a diet it would be the CRON diet. It's is what humans need after that Dean Ornish and the Mediterranean diet. Low carb is BS!

I can't suggest a diet plan but I can tell you that I lost 50 lbs., and kept it off by changing the way I eat....a new life style. I ate more to lose weight. By combining the right foods at the right time. The eating plan I used is no longer available (to purchase) but I will share more with you if you are interested.
 
Below is an excerpt from the program I used and it talks about mindset as it pertains to your weight and weight loss.
Please read all the way through twice and give me your thoughts. Once you have you have changed you thinking about losing weight I will share more.

YOU MUST make up your mind that you are going to make a change.
What you think about you bring about. If you think about being fat when you look in the mirror then you are programming your subconscious mind to be fat. What you think controls your emotions and your emotions control your actions.

Think = “I’mFat
Emotion = depression, frustration, feelings of defeat, emptiness.Etc.
Actions = Comfort eating to make us feel good, poor food choices, loss ofmental energy to getmoving.

The Good News is: YOU CAN CHANGE YOURTHINKING!
Instead Think Like This–

Think – I’m becoming the person I want be, my body is changing shape, Iam
becoming lean.
Now think and believe it is true and be grateful for this new way of thinking and be thankful you are moving ahead.

Everyday continue these thoughts, every time you look into the mirror, every time you sit down, every time you get in the car, every time you get up towalk.

Your emotions will follow and your actions will follow. Soon you will become what you think.

Make this conscious decision. I will look into my body and see the lean body I’m becoming. Find a picture of the body you want and tape it to your mirror, tape it to the visor in your car, tape it to your computer, fold up a copy and place it in your wallet or purse.

Doing this will change your vision of yourself. It will change your thinking your emotions and your actions….. For the better.

**Before starting this or any other weight loss program you should consult your physician to see if it is right for you. Check with your doctor if you are taking medications to insure the change in your diet you are about to make doesn’t interfere or interact.**
