Weight-Loss

Ok, well I'm stuck. I want to find the best diet possible for human consumption but there is so much conflicting information out there... some people lobby that a non-raw diet is toxic, some say you need animal protein, some say eating animals is unnatural and takes a heavy toll on your body. This is just a scratch of the scratch of the surface too.
It just seems like everyone has a ‘do whatever you think is right’ attitude towards their nutrition. Short of becoming a nutritionals myself (I don’t want to though) I doubt I’ll ever be content.

Does anyone have opinions on this?

It seems dumb to say cooking food makes it toxic, but the argument is pretty solid and logical to boot.

Does living without meat have any downfalls? I love chicken and it’s lean, but is there anything wrong with that?

I think I might have to make my own nutrition plan but I’m ignorant on the topic really…

I guess the big question here is what does my body need to live and be as healthy as it can possibly be? I don't want to be ripped, just lean and healthy I suppose!

Help?

Thanks!

I will say that within fitness communities and academia that there is a gold standard for nutritional eating.

1. Plenty of vegetables for nutrients and fiber
2. Lean meats for protein and a reasonable buffer of fat (your organs need it).
3. Essential fatty acids for proper bodily function
4. Complex carbohydrates in moderate amounts to provide energy for working muscle and healthy activity. This can be through vegetables (see 1) or whole grains and minimizing intake of refined carbs.

You can cook food. You can eat chicken. Eating animals is natural...we are omnivores....we have millions of years of game hunting under our belt.
