HELP..question on protien

Here is my question.. I go to Wal-Mart and I found "Wheys Premium Protien," it is only 18 bucks! I told my professional trainer I am using this protien supplement and he flipped. He showed me the protien the gym sells and said it is much better, it was 60 bucks!.. Correct me if i am wrong.. protien is protien right? arnt both the products good?

Yeah, there might be a minor difference in the emulsifiers, flavouring and taste, but as far as I know there's not much a difference. If there is, it will be negligible and no worth the price difference. You're probably paying for the name rather than the content.

it really does depend on what's in it.

whey protein could be whey protein isloate, hydrolyzed isolate...

and whey isn't necessarily 'the best' in the first place. I always go for a blended protein, a whey + casein blend, sometimes including egg protein too (depends on the brand).

I do think $60 is too much for a 5lb tub, but $18 for 5lbs to me suggests an inferior product.
