Help Please

New to this exercise thing, well sort of. Have been using a ski machine in winter months and jogging (low rate of speed ) in months with no snow, Anyway I have a physical abilities test coming in about 12 days, I am unable to run the exact course I will run in the test but can get close to in a mini gym I have access to, did a little test and I am about 4 seconds slow on each lap. Any suggestions that may help cut down my time? Should I run the test twice a day (it consists of a running obsticle course of stairs and low jumps timed to 4:15. Should I just go out on the road and run twice a day. Kinda lost here so any help would be greatly appreciated.
