Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum so I will give some background on me. I am 52 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches and 7 years ago weighted in at just under 350 pounds. By 2002 I lost 150, down to 200.n I lost the weight following my own eating plan, based on alot of nutritional research and of course exercising. I had surgery to remove 10 pounds of excess skin on my stomach but still about 20 pounds of excess skin on my arms and thighs according to the doctor. Since then I have gained back 28-30 pounds, it varies. I workout 5-6 days a week, doing 45-60 minutes of cardio daily and weight/strength training 2-3 times per week for 20-30 minutes. I drink only water and green tea and eat no red meat, no white bread, rice or pasta. I rarely eat something "bad", maybe 2 times per month. My calorie intake is 1200-1300 calories now. I was eating 1000-1100 until about a month ago. I am perimenopausal and have not had a period for 5 months now. I have a hypo thyroid condition and take .075 mg of Levothyroxine. I have been told that I am not losing because I am eating too few calories, so I increased from 1000 to 1300 but have only succeeded in gaining more weight. Please can someone give me some help. Not onlly do I need to lose some more weight, I absolutely can't continue to gain like this. Thanks, Mary

Major congrats on the huge weight loss. It seems like you're doing all the right things, so long as you are accurately tracking your calorie intake and keeping your portion sizes reasonable. But it sounds like you are. What does your doctor say about this? There's got to be a way to get the weight moving again. Have you tried weight lifting? That could jump start things. Maybe you could start a diary on here and keep us posted on what your eating and doing. We'd love to help if we can.
