HI. I NEED HELP IN SUGGESTIONS IN LOOSING WIEGHT:confused: . I AM NOT OVERWEIGHT, JUST HAVE ABOUT A STONE AND A HALF TO LOOSE. I'VE TOTALLY CHANGED MY DIET, WHICH NOW CONSISTS OF:
BREAKFAST – WEETABIX / SULTANA BRAN WITH SKIMMED MILK
LUNCH - WEIGHT WATCHERS SOUP / WHOLEMEAL PITA WITH TUNA AND SALAD
DINNER - SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE (WHOLEMEAL PASTA) / SALMON AND BROWN RICE / CHICKEN AND VEG/ (SIMILAR)
SNACKS - SPECIAL K CEREAL BAR, APPLE, BABANA, OPTIONS HOT CHOC.

I DON'T REALLY DRINK MUCH ALCOHOL ANYMORE; I HAVE ONE CUP OF COFFEE A DAY AND IM TRYING TO INCREASE MY INTAKE OF WATER. I AM ALSO DRINKING GREAN TEA.

I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS DIET FOR 5 WEEKS NOW WITHOUT ANY RESULTS  . I HAVE STARTED RUNING IN THE LAST WEEK SO NOT GETTING VERY FAR BUT I’M TRYING. I HAVE JUST STARTED A NEW JOB WHICH MEANS I SIT ON MY ASS MOST OF THE DAY.

I KNOW THIS WON'T BE AN OVER NIGHT THING AND THE HARDEST WEIGHT TO LOOSE IS WHEN ITS A SMALL AMOUNT BUT I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE SOME SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT I’M DOING WRONG OR HOW I CAN MAKE THIS MORE AFFECTIVE.

THANKS GUYS
X

We are in the same boat

Hi there

First let me congratulate u for taking this big step. As far as I see, ur eating habits are ok. I believe that we gotta be patient in order to lose some pounds. My only advice is this...... Forget that u are trying to lose weight. If the mind is constantly reminding u r on a weight loss regime, ur might expect to see fast results and in this case.. after some time u see no results and finally give up. It has happened to me before. It took me 2 months to lose 3 kg. Sometimes it could be the metabolism also. Give some time. Ur body is trying to recognise this new healthy eating schedule. Maybe your body responds slowly.. that's all. Also sometimes it could be water retention. I am trying to lose 8kg only and it is taking me ages. Dun be discouraged by the digits u see on the weighing scale. What matters is how u feel. Ur body will tell u the difference. Do u feel light? Does ur skirt feels loose now? Can ur last button in ur blouse fits?

Suggestions

Working out is the only solution. U gotta do it. I sit all day in my chair too. But I try to work out when I get home. At least 30 mins. Do cardio. FYI I haven't lost an inch. But I am not giving up. I beileve the results will come. It is a matter of time, that's all.

Eat within 2hrs after working out. It seems that the metabolism is at its peak so can burn faster. Read that in SHAPE mag.

Finally, DON'T GIVE UP! Continue whatever u are doing. We will see results in no time.

Your diet doesntsound too bad. Try not to eat too many big starchy carbs during the evening - although I'm glad that you seem to be using whole grain products. The spaghetti sauce might be worth checking out for its kcals, but generally speaking, they are fine points.

You could consider working out your calorific requirements, and then start cal counting. Its not something that I have done myself yet, but there are plenty of tools on the Web - I'm sure someone here could help.

I think that you already know what might be the problem - inactivity and that job. You need to find activities and exercise that you enjoy and that will help you reach your targets. I think that lots of brisk walking is a great exercise, and a very good start for lots of people. Jogging and running can develop once you have got used to walking more. There are these HIIT programmes that claim to have great results with weight loss. Consider trying out a gym - that works for some people. Alternatively, some prefer home fitness exercise videos. Cycling and swimming are another two great ways of getting fit.

It really depends on the individual - you.
