HELP!!! Need an answer by Wednesay, 4/26/06

Hey guys...

I'm in the Military, and have my PFA (Physical Fitness Assessment on Wednesday. I need to run the 1.5 mile in under 14:50...which is not a problem for me, I just have a problem with feeling like I'm "running on empty" when running.

I need some type of nutritional bar or food to eat right before so I dont feel this way. Any suggestions please!??!

This might help

One of the biggest things that you need to do is relax before the run. After this you might want to try and experiment with different things since different things work for different people. You might try a breakfast of pancakes, french toast, or waffles accompanied by fruit and jucie. This makes some people sick and they have better luck with lighter meals. Also try cliff bars or powerbars and gels before you work out. The key though is to try some of these options a while before you have to run for something important like this.

Sorry that is the best I can do for you it is hard to say because what some people eat for breakfast before they run makes me sick. Most of the time what I like for breakfast before a race makes everybody sick so the key is to experiment with several options before hand.

I myself like Zone Perfect bars, all nutrion apples and cinnamon flavor. If you are going to eat a meal before your PT, eat it 1 hour before you run. otherwise, you need clif bar or something easy. Drink water too.

if running the 1.5 miles in under 14 minutes isn't a problem and you just feel your on empty, get through the run and then later experiment on what you should and shouldn't eat. the last thing you want to do is experiment with eating food when you don't know how it will effect your running. just concentrate, this run is easy for you, no worries.
