My work place is doing a Biggest Loser contest based on the TV show.
Whoever has the largest % of weight lost by June 29th wins some cool prizes.
I am a 44 year old sports nut (male)
6'3.5" weighed in on May 14th at 246.0 LBS
Weighed in today at 245.5 LBS.
I'm a vegetarian and I eat no dairy.
About 10 years ago I ran long distance, completing a few half marathons and one full marathon. Then I started having some significant inflammation issues which stopped me from running. I weighed in at about 192LBS back then.
Since I couldn't do any weight bearing activities, I started lifting weights while not adapting my marathoning diet... my weight SKYROCKETED
so here I am!
I cycle to work each day about a 25 minute trip to work.
I run every second day - usually around 30 - 35 minutes.
I also do a 1- 1.5 hr bike ride on the weekend.
On my non-running days, I do some light weights , pushups, crucnches & yoga
typical diet is:
breakfast: fruit smoothie with vega powder
snack: piece of fruit or low fat pretzels
lunch: falafel pita sandwich or veggie sandwich
snack: apple sauce or organic fruit/veggie bar
dinner: veggie stir fry with tofu
I usually drink about 3 - 4 liters of water per day
So far my results are
week 1 Lost 8.5 LBS
week 2 Lost 1.5 LBS
next 5days: Lost 0.5 LBS
Week 1 must have been mainly water.
I have to say I'm quite disappointed with 2 LBS in 12 days!
any thoughts? ideas?
