Help Me Change My Life!

Hey Guys.
You know how people get up to there 40's and look back and say "Man, I'm chubby now...I wish I had the body of a 20 year old"? Well, I'm 20 and I've never had my dream body. I don't want to look back on my youth with any regrets, so while I'm here at University I want to transform my physical self.

The motivation is there, the heart is there...even my diet is there now (6 small meals a day...NOTHING but whole grain bread, slice of low calorie cheese, small can of tuna (tuna can fit on the palm of my hand), low-calorie yogurt, carrots, and water. I'm treating this as a mind-over-matter experiment as well as diet. My goal is to eat nothing but this for the next 3 months).

All I am missing is the way to go about doing this. After doing research, I've come to realize that the 7-day split with 3 cardio days is the best way to go. This way I can work the crap out of 2-3 muscle groups a day and not worry about saving them because the next day will be 2-3 completely different muscle groups with cardio in between...

I am 5'4", 143 lbs, 20 years old. I'm not obese but I do have some fat on my stomach and almost no muscle tone. Can you PLEASE give me a weekly workout I can do to get rid of the body fat and build lean muscle in 3 months (I get my first break from school in 3 months and really want to impress everyone back home).

As I understand it, fatigue shouldn't be an issue if the muscle groups are strategically laid out in the week so they have time to heal while you're doing the other muscle groups. ALSO, for cardio, please no running, jump roping or swimming. Running because I don't want to run on hard ground and swimming/jump roping because I don't have the requisite equipment. All I have for "equipment" is a backpack that I can fill with stuff and a chair.

Thank you all so so much in advanced!

No program is going to help you (certainly not gain muscle) on that diet. If you eat that diet for 3 months, you'll be in the worst shape of your life. How are you making six meals out of that? It's not enough food and you've basically sworn off green vegetables for a quarter of the year.

well i dont know where you're getting your information from sir but what im eating actually scientifically qualifies as a perfect meal...

According to Harley Pasternak, world renown celebrity trainer perfect meals contain 5 (low-glycemic) things: "elements each meal should include -- protein, complex carbohydrates, fiber, fat, and fluids"

My diet is filling, low calorie, low glycemic, highly fiborous, has a serving of vegetables and lean protein and follows scientifically proven guidelines...im not saying im all knowing because i am the one who asked for help, but what else would you have me do?

ok, first off your diet seems ok, but you don't want to eat the same exact **** for 3 months straight. You need to get your nutrients from a variety of sources, especially your protein. Not to mention the amount of mercury you'd be consuming by having multiple cans of tuna a day(not ragging on tuna, I love it as much of the next dude, but one can a day at most!).

Also if you want to get really lean, then you will want to eliminate all flours, including those in your bread, even if they are low glycemic. YOu want to start thinking about nutrient density, or the amount of nutrients per calorie, and when it comes to flour, there aren't many. So you should get your carbs from fibrous vegetables and some low glycemic fruit. You should also cycle between low carb days, and medium carb days, and on the low carb days make sure you get lots of good fats and protein.

What has worked best for me is cycling the warrior diet in with low carb and high carb days as well. If you are interested in that let me know and I'll send you some more information on it.

As far as training, your routine looks ok, but honestly, cardio isnt the best way to burn fat, high intensity interval training is. I personally use kettlebell trainign to take care of that, and lift heavy 3-4 times a week on top of my daily kettlebell training. Again, let me know if you are interested in learningt o trian with kettlebells and I'lls end u more info. GOod luck!

A can of tuna has 26g of protein. You want closer to 1g per pound. That's 143g of protein for you. I'd increase my protein intake by at least 5x. If you're eating 6 cans of tuna, then I'll wish you luck. But 1 can is simply not enough protein. I'd also eat green vegetables.
