Help!!! I'm New

Hello everyone!!!

I am a 21 year old female about 5'3" and 205 pounds. I have jus recently started a weight loss program, slim fast optima. This is my 2nd week into it. The first week I lost 2.5 pounds. The thing is I exerceised 5 times taht week for like 2 hours a day and that is all that I lost? I also did lot of weights so I was thinking maybe I gained muscles. Could that be that case cuz Idid do weights everyday. I also ate tremendously right too. Any suggestions??? so what is a good way to lose weight: mostly cardio??? or a balance between the two(cardio and weights) I know that I probably were doing heavy weights too

I think 2.5 pounds per week is pretty good
anything above that would probably be unhealthy

The important thing is that you have started the diet
and kept it for a week
that takes more force of will than people imagine

Hey don't give up just yet... think about how long it took you to put the weight on... and then give yourself at least 1/2 of that time to take it off... (remember you have to burn 3500 calories in order to lose one pound) So if you gained the weight over a one year period, at least give yourself 6 months to take it off... it's hard but I am doing the SAME thing... I put a lot of my weight on when I had my 2 babies 14 months apart from each other (both c-sections) so I am giving myself about 7 months to take it off... OR you can average 1-2 pounds per week..
STICK TO IT!!! You will feel so much better!! Even if you don't SEE it right away, you will FEEL it right away!! I am gonna keep checking on you!!;) Best of luck!!!!!!!!
 
best exercise to do is something enjoyable and challenging. I hate walking on the treadmill.. so boring.. so I ulternate it with running for a couple minutes.. first time I did it I figured I was gonna die.. but now I cant walk without it... it breaks up the mundain and challenges my body.. and makes me feel damn good.

If you are like I do... make sure you start measuring your body.. you will loose something.. but it might not show up on a scale.. take measurments as you are prob gonna loose inches.. and if u need insentive like me.. you wanna see them come off and know when they do to encourage you to do more. I am almost 20 and weighed 230 lbs... am now down to 175.. its very possible.. just takes time. I plateued for about 3 months.. where all I lost was inches.. no weight. But I dont regret it.. my body is much more toned.

don't forget your metabolism is slow right now. once you build it up (and your muscles), you'll be losing weight faster and more easily too.
 
hey there. im trying to remember from my training days but its cardio all the time and heavy weights add muscle which will make you heavy on the scale cause it weighs more than fat. light weights with alot of reps tones what you already have and is on the borderline cardio side......
 
Good luck! I'm new here too but have already had tons of support from everyone.

I admit I'm a little dubious of the Slim Fast system. I tried it years ago and my stomach did not like me for it! I felt quite ill. But if it works for you than that's great. And if it doesn't than don't get discouraged. There are tons of people here to help you through the low points!
 
Wat u need would b gd nutrition on top of exercise so tt ur body will self heal and repair and lose the wt tt u dun need. U might have water retention tt's y the stubborn cellulite still remains and not able to flush out of ur system. Might want to try healthy nutrition like Herbalife. Not a wt loss pdt.
