i've been following a strict and healthy diet all along.. and excercising regularly 5 times a week.. what i cannot stand is a little bit of increase in my weight.. but last night i was really sad.. so i started binging.. i think i swallowed about 1000 kcal worth of cheese cake and cookies before i go to bed! i wake up feeling absolutely depressed!! fr today on i would be continuing with my healthy eating habits... but what would this terrible night do to my dieting?

Sometimes when we eat the things we don’t normally the body seams to get a kick out of it and we actually loose weight instead of putting it on. So I wouldn’t worry to much just keep at it mate. The thing is you have learnt that when you’re upset you eat so try and have some low fat foods around just for those times. Good luck with your weight loss journey.

if you look at everything that way there is no way you can continue to work out and live a healthy lifestyle. Think about it this way, you have many many many many more years to live and to make up for this little "mistake" :p . In the long run this will not make you gain alot of weight, you will not see the effects of this unless you keep thinking about it. Just shrug it off and continue to do what you been doing and you will b ok within 24 hours!!!

U KNOW THERE R PEOPLE WITH SIX PAKS THAT ALL OF A SUDDEN WILL EAT LIKE 4 BIGMACS AND FRIES, ITS NOT LIKE THEIR SIX PACK WILL GO AWAY. ITS THE SAME FOR YOU, YOU R NOT GONNA ALL OF THE SUDDEN WAKE UP WITH MORE FAT, JUST FORGET ABOUT IT!!!!! :D

yeah son't worry about it, A lot of people splurge one day, and it doesn't really effect it that much. Just keep on working hard. Try to get out of the obsession with your weight. If you go up a few pounds, don't get depressed and cry a river, just stay positive, and tell yourself that you will do a bit more that week to lose those few pounds.

A good way to get over this obsession is to get rid of your scale. As long as you feel great, and you are ok with your image, health etc, then thats all that matters.

No big deal-just shrug it off. And I suggest you be a little less strict with your diet. Eat to live, don't live to eat. Get yourself some low fat ice cream (Weight Watchers-Smart Ones are really good and low cal, low fat, and they even have a little cheesecake dessert.) If once every two weeks or so you want to go out to dinner, go and enjoy it and don't think about what it's doing to your diet. Live a little! If you're super strict all the time you're setting yourself up for failure. You're exercising 5 days a week and sticking to a diet-that's more willpower than a lot of people have and you're doing great. Some cheesecake and a few cookies can't break your spirit. You can do it!

Yeah, it's ok. I'm just starting a new diet so it may not be smart for me to do that. But if you work out w/weights, eating 'wrong' probably wont make a difference, since your body is actively burning calories even when you sleep.

Working out

Have you considered that a little increase in weight could be muscle? If you're working out five times a week you're bound to be putting on muscle. Do you have a body-fat scale?

bride2be is definitly right :) and i totally hear u with the cookies thing, i know the feeling of having a terrible night and the next day just worse than a hang over sometimes...but hang in there! cause life goes on and im just learning to think with every minute that passes, that a little bit more of the food gone, so soon it will be ur distant past :)

Many people worry too much when they brake their diet once in a while. It is not so bad when you give your body something different sometimes. I workout a lot and i'm very active and try to eat as healthy as i can, but sometimes i just feel like having something different and my body instead of storing it, burns it because it's not used to having that. Maybe it could be the same for you guys. Don't feel so guilty if it's only once in a while.

yeah i agree with livestrong, although it is really hard to realise u havnt completely destroyed everything sometimes, just hold ur head high and push forward for another day!:D

In the long run, it makes no difference at all. Eating like that may make your body hold a little water, but that will go right away. I'm one of those people that pyramidutriton mentioned: I splurge like that from time to time and it doesn't make my 6 pack go away. ;)

Just try to focus on living a healthy lifestyle. Eat plenty of good, healthy foods and get some decent exercise. With this, healthy weigh tloss will come.

I know how you feel.

Nutella is my weakness! and I ate a whole bunch of it the other day and I was so disappointed in myself. But instead of pretending it didn't happen and ripping that day out of my diet diary I wrote it in and wrote how gross I felt after and then I just let it go. I'm not gonna let it get me down again so I can have more bouts of emotional eating over it!

Instead of feeling so bad about yourself ... think about it this way ... what you have developed is a food conscience which is vital to any healthy eating lifestyle. It means your conscience will tell you when you have had too much. After all, no one can expect to never ever have cheesecake forever. It's all about controlling the portion sizes and allowing yourself a treat once in a while. Anyway, it's probably not going to affect your weight loss as much as you expected. Cheers!
