Help, I don't know where to start!

Hi all,
I am very unfit and unhealthy at the moment and I really don't know where to start.
I am only 5'2 and recently checked the scales to be shocked that I now weigh 12 stone, eek!
I have struggled with my weight for a little while, also with depression, anxiety and being a smoker really doesn't help.
I have finally realised something drastically needs to be done right now in my life.
I was doing well at the start of last year I got a gym membership, quit smoking and was going Zumba twice a week. Long story short it was a very bad year for me after that my grandfather passed away along with several other family members, I had a miscarriage, I was also in and out of hospital with severe kidney infections so the gym when out the window and I started smoking the dreaded death sticks again!
Basically I'm looking for someone who can help me find exercises that I can do daily that will help, I don't have any exercise equipment and can't afford the gym at the moment, I also work full time on top of college with exams coming up so it can't be overly time consuming. I think with my anxiety and depression finding the motivation is actually harder than the exercise. If anyone has any hints or tips for fitting these things in and ideas on where to start would be much appreciated. My goal is to be able to do a 5k by the end of this year.

First of all, you are very brave, considering everything you went through in your life! I would primarily focus on diet, search for your daily calorie needs and remove 500 calories from the maintenance. You will lose weight this way, it is just how it works. Also, if you want to do Zumba again, go ahead, it is great in my opinion. Besides that, search up some good 20 minutes HIIT workouts that will help you shred some extra fat really fast! Hope this helped!

Thank you! I know it probably sounds like a lot of excuses but it did really knock me back. I have cut down a lot on my foods but think I need to start writing down to see exactly what I'm eating and to see where I can cut or replace things. I may even start a diary time permitted! The lady who used to do the Zumba in my area is off on maternity leave at the moment so I may try HIIT to see how that goes never really looked into it before think it's a fear of the unknown sort of thing! Thanks for the help hopefully this will be my year to become fit again.

If weight loss is your goal, it comes down to one thing. Energy Balance, basically in a nutshell if you want to lose weight scientifically you have to burn more calories you consume, meaning you do have to starve yourself a little bit and actually keep track of your calorie intake each day and burn those calories through various methods, such as cardio and resistance training. I recommend you look up "IIFYM" which is dieting method arguably the easiest to adhere to and try and atleast fit in an hour of exercise when you are free. And always when training, always try to beat your record than last weeks workout.

Youtube is a good teacher. Look up home workouts you can do anywhere. The most important step is actually starting.

Good luck on your journey, and genuinely hope you do find your rhythm and crush your 5k goal.

Hi, I've been working out and lifting weights for the past 2 months and honestly the best things I've taken to help me loose body fat fast is non filtered apple cider vinegar and a flat belly program. They have worked for to loose 42 lbs in 2 months. If you're interested I'll leave the web link here. Hope it works.

Hi there!
I had to totally change my lifestyle to avoid a heart attack!
My cholesterol was over 15 and I ended up in hospital.
I'm not going to bore you with the details, but I realized that if I do not totally change my habits and the way I live, I'm going to die.
Both my parents passed on due to heart-related issues, and I was well on my way to join them.

Simple things make a huge difference.

Instead of going to the gym, I go on long walks. Great way to see new things and burn calories.
I totally cut out sugar. And once you start looking out for it, you will be amazed at how many products contain bad stuff that is not good for our bodies (or minds).
I take the stairs instead of using the elevators or escalators.
No more fizzy drinks, at all. Not even the sugar-free ones.
I eat 3 small meals a day, and light snacks in between.

The results are amazing. I am losing weight. It's slow, about 4 pounds a week, but it's happening in a healthy way, and it's staying off.
Also, the bad foods now make me sick. After about 2 months of changing how and what I eat, I don't even want to look at a burger or french fries. Just the smell turns me off.

I hope this helps.
