Help! How to perform this exercise adequately?

Im doing pilates for some time but I cant understand what im doing wrong or which muscles I dont have at all or they are not trained enough. I cant shift the leg straight up in 90` angle, it becomes even worse when I have to thighten both my legs and keep them up straight. I start to shake after 1 second and the legs on their own become bent. Even with bent legs I cant perform this exercise. :(

Please advise something! Thank you in advance.
 
I'm having the same problem and it's because I have no flexibility. Do some stretching exercises and stretch out those tendons/ligaments in your legs. Just keep practicing even though you can't do the exercises at 100% form... pretty soon, you will be able to!
 
Are you working out with a teacher? maybe see if you can get a handful of lessons before going at it alone. I was always told that everyone has different levels of flexibility, some improve over time, some are naturally flexible others have a celing limit where they can only get so flexible.

If your leg wont go up to 90 degrees, don't worry, its about core stability rather then who can hold their leg the highest. If your shaking, its your muslces getting to the end of their teather and getting fatigued. I was always under the impression that this is what trained your muscles so that after time you become stronger and can do more.

Do speak to your teacher- find one if you've not got one, they can give much better hands on experience and are able to see more where your limits are and explain what to expect from yourself.
