I've been working out in the gym now for about 6 mths and am really happy with my progress. Although with xmas round the corner I want to really make a last minute push to get myself as toned as possible for the festive parties!! :xmas::xmas:
Soooo how much toning can I do in two weeks? What I mean is, if I go to the gym and work weights on my arms every day for the next 2 weeks will they tone up much in 2 weeks? or does it take longer to show??
I usually go three time a week at the moment but just want to step it up for xmas
Thanks
How much you can so-call tone in two weeks can depend.
It depends on the "position of one's physique", such as how much muscle development their is underneath the skin (and contraction state while relaxed), and fatty tissue covering the muscle, etc.
Dietary habits effect the look of a muscle, using me as an example:
For example, I can make myself look "flat" (but not defined, or toned if you will) in about one week, just through manipulating carbohydrates to the low-side.
This dietary act, removes water retention (such as when trying to remove a little more body fat corresponding with a calorie deficit, and I can look extremely dry, and less defined), but is only temporary, and is one step in a future vision. Remember the body is primarily water, and removing it or putting it in, can have some increased biological effects (one way or the other).
After this trend, I will put water back in by upping carbohydrates, and look extremely cut in the core, and my veins (in my upper body especially will pop out really well for may age bracket), and look very good.
If I continue with too many carbohydrates (hypothetically--for a trend-after), I can tend to look washed out (as I call it). And, if I stay in a certain operating range of carbohydrates (according to activity schedule), the water tends to subside a tad (after the initial bloat), and comes into a stable and every day look.
My point here is that If I restrict carbohydrates for a trend, and then increase carbohydrates for a trend, there is a peak that occurs, and then it falls off after a certain period and my body tends to balance things out.
I learned this through simple self experiments with the almighty diet. Simply put, the diet has A LOT to do with how you look, and the results one gets from the gym.
There are times when Carbohydrates are my best friggen friend (such as in a bulk, such as in using single calorie deficits (and not adjoining low carbohydrates, if fat tissue is above 10%, and trying to optimize energy/fatigue, in an suboptimal calorie environment). And, there are times, they are not my best friend, such as when trying to dip below 9% BF. Some do not have to mess with carbohydrates to dip under 9%, and just run simple calorie deficits and adjoin proper fitness activities. I am not one of those individuals. A lot of persons will spend some time figuring out where they stand in just what I stated. Some find it. Some do not.
Additionally, my point is that the manipulation of diet is the key mainframe. And, how much "toning" satisfaction you obtain will just simply depend on where YOU are presently at "physically". And, how you approach your personal diet, will depend on your goals and this present physical condition. Dependent on your current status, it is quite possible you will not see any toning (because fat tissue is too thick, muscle development isn't developed enough, etc, etc).
And, I agree with ILM. Rome was not built over night.
No one can properly answer your question, because there are simply too many unknowns about YOU.
On the one hand, it can be possible to "tone" in two weeks (because of your current physique), on the other it simply may not be possible, and you need more time.
1. Build some appropriate muscle through proper training and dietary habits.
The diet you use to build muscle and progress in your goal, may not be the same one used as you get VERY CLOSE to your personal goal want.
2. At the correct goal position point, decide if any tweaks in your dietary habits are needed and/or necessary. Do NOT miss the ship, like some do.
At the "proper" personal goal point, "it is the diet", that enhances the so-called tone look---once Rome is built properly.
Good luck to you, young lady.
Best wishes
