Guys,

It's been some time since I bothered with the scientific side of nutrition. I was playing with the forumula to work out my BMR and cal intakes.

BMR = 66 + ( 13.7 x weight in kilos ) + ( 5 x height in cm ) - ( 6.8 x age in years )

So for me, it goes a little something like this:

BMR = 66 + ( 13.7 x 118kg ) + ( 5 x 186cm ) - ( 6.8 x 23yo )

On the activity scale, I am 1.60

so...

66 + ( 13.7 x 118) = 1682.6
( 5 x 186 ) = 963
( 6.8 x 23 ) = 156.4

BMR = 1682.6 + 963 - 156.4 = 2489.2

2489.2 * 1.6 = 3982.72 Cal's to maintain...

Does this sound right to you???

In the past, I have just been eating like a horse and lifting like a clown on heat and 4k calories a day doesn't seem right; it seems to high!

Please tell me im on the right track!

Cheers,

Steve.

I said this in a previous post... eating alot and working out (alot) it will help put on muscle mass instead of eating alot and getting fat. Are you a body builder cause 4k does sound a lot... try 2500 to 3000 and see how you are in a few weeks

Like I said previously said, I have never been scientific when it comes to nutrition. The sort of person I am is just eat like a horse and work my ass off ever 36 hours for 50mins.

Im not a body builder, just like to exceed my gains.

I have come to learn that the science behind nutrition is to confusing and there is only one way to do it - eat eat eat, work out, eat eat eat and then eat some more and workout...

I'll stick to that as it works hehehe.

Thanks for the input!
