Hi guys,
My name is Steven and I am looking for help in losing weight. I have always been a heavy set kid since I was born with my highest being 475lbs last year; I was just diagnosed with being a Diabetic Type - 2. I am a 33 year old male that is taking the steps now to lose weight so I don't die from a heart attack in my 40's. My current weight as of yesterday was at 447 and my height is 5ft 10in. I was told by my Diabetic nurse to cut my carbs and look into Keto to help normalize my blood sugars and a1ch levels. I currently am cutting my carbs but not to the level of keto, I have mostly backed away from all sugars (I tend to have a sweet snack once in blue moon). I recently just joined my local Planet Fitness and doing the treadmill but would like to find an exercise routine for the machine weights, not to comfortable with the free stuff yet.
 
Welcome Steven! It sounds like you have a good plan and congrats on losing 28 lb so far.

If you haven't already, check out the diary section since that gets the most traffic these days. Starting a journal can help keep yourself accountable, bounce ideas off other people, or just vent when you need to.
 
Hi Steven and welcome to the forum! Great job on losing 28 pounds already and getting more active. Do you have an opportunity to work with a personal trainer for a couple of sessions? That would probably get you feeling more comfortable in the gym. Make sure to check credentials if you do though, rather than just going for whoever has the "best" body.
