Hey my name is justin I'm 30 yo currently weight 286 I would like to get down to around 230ish.

I recently used a fourm to quit using tobacco and it worked but unfortunately now I cant control my eating and putting on weight like crazy. Not sure how this works but I could really use help.

Hi, Justin! Yes, the link between stopping smoking and picking up snacking is pretty well known - and it makes sense, because your body is in the habit of reaching for something (cigarette packet) and putting it in your mouth and then consuming/smoking it, so if the smokes disappear, then it will feel "natural" to reach for whatever food is handy, and... away you go!
But you've broken one habit - and nicotine is more than a habit, it's an addiction - so i guess you can break this one, too. Could you stary be arranging things so that there's only reasonably nutritious foods within reach? If you can get rubbish foods right out of your environment, that would be even better! (but it can be hard, depending where you work etc.)

Here on this forum, there's several men who are between 200 and 300 pounds; some of them hang out here:

My wife does buy healthier foods but it's to the point I'll drive to taco bell at 2 a m becouse a banana just wont do it lol I feel I have a food addiction now.

You are the only person I know who has taken snuff! (Though of course I might know others, and just don't know they use snuff.)
But anyway - that cuts out what I was saying about mouth-focussed habits - we'd better wait and see what other help arrives! :)

@Justin325
I totally agree with aiminglow. There is a connection between giving up smoking and at the same time eating a lot of snacks. People usually gain weight at this time. But there are some options that you can stop the gaining process.
I don't really know about smoking so I can't share my stories with you ( ;) ) but I can try to give you some advice.
How long time it takes? What type of snacks do you eat mostly?
