I'm AllyAnn, and like many others on here, I'm hoping I'll be able to glean a little more support and kind of use this forum as a journal of sorts... if that makes sense. I started my weight loss journey last November and have lost 15 lbs. so far. My ultimate goal is to lost at least 60 lbs. total.
I've been overweight for 8 years (since I was 10 years old) and obese for 4, and honestly, I've gotten sick of feeling insecure about weight, not fitting into regular-size clothes in most stores, and-- most importantly-- being at risk for developing diabetes and heart disease like many of my family members on both sides of my family. At first, I didn't know where to start. The thought of suddenly exercising vigorously every day to burn maybe a few hundred calories seemed daunting, so you can imagine my elation when I found out that most of weight loss is dependent on diet. I downloaded a calorie-counting app, chose my weight loss plan, and here I am now, 15 lbs. lighter and already starting to swim in some of my clothes.
Weight loss story and progress, I'm a foodie who loves international cuisine, an artist, a singer, a gardener, and a cook-in-training (not aspiring to be a chef; I'm just learning from my mother and cookbooks). I'm also a Christian, but if you feel like talking to me about any controversial subjects, I won't hit you over the head with a Bible or call you a blasphemer; I'm a bit more open than some of my Christian peers and I love discussion.![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
... Well, that was quite a long introduction. Sheesh.
