Hi everyone, new guy here. My weight loss journey is beginning today. I've tried to lose weight in the past with varying degrees of success. I'm hoping this time is different. I'm a 37, 5'10" and 318 lbs. I have pitting edema in both legs (they look like Popeye's legs) I have a serious addiction to junk food, sodas, and a massive sweet tooth. I can't cook worth a crap (I microwave everything including Ramen noodles) Most of my exercise consists of walking my dog (Which is actually pretty decent since she likes to go on 2 hour walks) I'd love some encouragement and advice.I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow to stock up on healthy food, I'd love some recommendations. Welcome to the forum Matt

there is plenty of encouragement to be found here, the most popular part of the forum is the diary sections, which is where I would suggest you start a journal, posting your food, exercise and how your feeling, this will allow other members to help with ideas in changes which need to be made but to support you and keep you on track for those days when you just want to give up.
