Hi Everyone,
I just joined this site. I'm 23 years old, trying to lose some weight and become healthier in general. I gained about 30 lbs from my second year of undergrad to where I currently am, entering my last year of my MA program. I had back surgery in my teen years and was told I needed to stay fit but didn't do too well with that. I have started eating better in the past three weeks (cutting out soda, alcohol, candy..for the most part). I find it difficult to fit exercise into my schedule but have been exercising for about 30-40 min at night as well as in the mornings before work for almost 2 weeks.
At my last dr's appt, I was 137lbs at 5'5. I am not necessarily trying to drop down to 105/110 but would like to definitely stop receiving comments when at doctor's appt about losing weight and "hitting the gym." I exercise outside and inside my apartment, I've never been to a gym primarily due to costs but since they are less costly nowadays, it's also because I'm flat out afraid to. Anyway, happy I found this forum and I look forward to being in community with others here and sharing our victories and struggles.
