I've been doing tae kwon do for a few years, and I enjoy learning new acrobatic techniques and tricks, whether they take flexibility, strength, coordination, or all three.
Lately I think I've reached a point (age 17) where I have to stop relying on my natural rate of growth to become more physically capable, and I need to take a more active effort towards making myself a good athlete.
I noticed this when I took an interest in handstand pushups, walking handstands, and one-arm pushups. I just don't have the strength necessary to do them. I also discovered I can only do a one-legged squat with my right leg, and it's poor. Then I tried a pullup and found that I can barely complete one rep!
I decided that I needed to hit the iron! So I started lifting weights a couple of weeks ago, but I've just started to build a program this week -- a place like this could really help me out. I browsed through a few threads, and I like the way it looks here.
Anyway, hi.
