Hello! Recovering girl in need of help!

Hi everybody! So, I'm new here. I'm a young student and I'm recovering from anorexia.
To keep myself from falling back to that disorder, I've started to workout more to get thin in a healthy way.
The thing is that my body image is still pretty twisted. Numbers and friends say that I'm completely normal (or even thin). I just don't feel like it myself.

So my question is, what should my goal be? I'm looking for honest answers, since last winter I still asked this same question from other anorectics on pro-ana websites. And they all obviously gave me numbers like 110 or 90. So I'm not going to break down from your answers, because if I've understood right, you people aren't that mad.

My height is 5'8'' / 173 cm and I'm 133 lbs / 61 kg. My BMI is a bit over 20. My body shape is hour glass; I have wide shoulders and a lot of fat on my waist and stomach.
Any opinnions?

Hi Kamira, welcome to the forum!

I think it's great that you're being so open and honest.

I'm going to make a recommendation that might not be what you're looking for/expecting and I hope you won't be offended.

I'm sure you're already aware that anorexia is a psychological condition first and foremost.

If you were my friend, I would urge you to find a good psychologist or counsellor whom you can trust, and having a few sessions to discuss your body-image perceptions.
You may already be doing this.

I hope you won't interpret this suggestion negatively. Psychotherapy is nothing to be ashamed of, and if you've already recognized that your problem is your perception of self, seeking guidance is really the next logical step. I myself have been seeing a psychologist for many years and I could only recommend it for everyone.

I hope you will accept this suggestion in the spirit that I am offering it, and will consider what I'm saying.

There is life after anorexia, and it can be rich and fulfilling.

Best of luck to you.
