Hi! I just joined today. I am a 5'4" woman, 184 lbs. I am more focused on a goal size rather than weight, but I guess my goal weight would be 125-135 and/ or size 6 or 8. That's what I used to be before everything went downhill (and MAN do I mean downhill - we had a few really rough years there!).

Anyway, I am doing the Wonderslim diet, trying to stick between 900-1100 calories a day. Once I my weight loss plateaus from dieting, I will throw in some workout routines to kick-start it up again. At least, that's the plan.

I am a married housewife with a "medically fragile" little boy (you wouldn't know it if you saw him - he's a little ball of energy!) and a wonderful husband that also needs to drop a few pounds. Also, I was a biochemist before I stopped working. I also have PCOS, hypertension and pre-diabetes. Time to drop these jelly rolls!

Anyway, just saying hi!

Hi Muffins, welcome to the forum. Good for you for making plans to reach your goal size. I'm a little concerned about your plan. From what I've read a calorie level that low could lower your metabolism and cause you to lose a lot of muscle as well as fat, especially if you're not adding the exercise till later. I'm trying this zigzag plan - only done it for 8 days but I'm liking it

firstly going this low in calories without supervision is not healthy and while it will make you loose weight it will be in a way that leads to easily regaining that weight in the future because you will be loosing lean muscle. As you stated your interested in size not a specific weight, lean muscle is important as it is metabolically active whereas fat is not. Muscle is far more dense than fat so in 2 people who weight the same the one with more muscle will be a smaller size.

If you insist on loosing through extreme calorie restriction then you must also be doing strength training to maintain your muscle for good health and prevent the YO Yo effect when your calories return to a normal level
