Hello everyone. I found this forum by searching for weight loss forums. I am stuck, have been for years, and I just need some help figuring out what I am going wrong.
The good news is I've lost 60 pounds and kept it off! The bad news is I lost most of that in 2011 to 2014 and have been stuck at my current weight since 2014. I need to lose about 30 more pounds to be at a healthy BMI.
I don't have any known medical conditions. I am very healthy (blood work is perfect, low blood pressure, slow heart resting rate, etc).
I am a 47 year old woman
I weight 186 pounds as of Friday morning (I weigh myself every week). My goal is 150-155 pounds.
I am 5'6" and 3/4 (I never know if I should round up or down. I only know my exact height because a rheumatologist measured me. I don't have arthritis. They were testing me for Lupus which I also do not have).
I have no idea what my body fat is, but I see fat (jiggly thighs, big butt, pinch an inch on my hips, etc). I am a classic pear shape.
I eat a high fiber diet and don't eat any processed meat and limit my red meat. This is because the doctor told me to eat this way because I am high risk for colon cancer. Aside from that, I eat anything (I favor higher fiber versions of anything I can). I use a food and exercise diary app on my phone and it has me budgeted for 1346 calories a day.
I walk my dog 2-3 miles every day. During the work week, I go to the gym in my office building and exercise on the elliptical for 35 minutes on my lunch break. I used to lift weights, but I broke my arm a few months ago and had to stop until the doctor clears me. In the summer I walk the dog a little less (too hot for her, but I still walk her at least 20 minutes) and I swim laps for about 30-40 minutes every day (I love swimming). I didn't get to swim much this past summer (broken arm again).
I've been at a three year plateau of sorts. After I broke my arm and had surgery to fix it, I gained a little weight, but I've taken it back off. That's the only fluctuation I've had. Please help! Thank you!
