Hey,
so I’ve been wanting to lose weight for a while now.
Ive tried diets and exercise However not had the motivation to stick to it.
ive downloaded apps, tried food planning, calorie counting. Nothing is working.
its making me feel depressed as I am not what I used to look like. Ive gained 4 stone and I just feel so ugly and I’m afraid my boyfriend feels the same way yet does not want to admit it. I Tried jeans on today for the first time in a while and they don’t fit. Ive bought clothes for my size and have to return them tomorrow due to needing a bigger size - a size Ive never been in, in my whole life.
im planning to try again Monday as I really want to fit in my jeans again.
any ideas / help / motivation?

thank you,
S x

Hey S and welcome to the forum! What's your current strategy and what's making it hard for you? Do you get extremely hungry, or anxious, or bored? I think we've all had times where it was hard to find the motivation (I definitely have!) And the only way forward is to keep trying, tweaking, and trying again. You're the only person who can motivate you but making the process somewhat pleasant does make it easier to stick with it.

I suffer with anxiety so some days I feel rubbish resulting in eating that way. Some days I’m bored hence overeating. I’ve tried napping to avoid eating after lunch however now I’m in a bad routine. I feel like my main issue is that I feel tired and have a lack of energy but I am getting enough sleep.

Hey S welcome! First let me say that many of us have been where you are now, and you are not rubbish! Not even close! Though I can understand that feeling, I had it many times myself.

I suggest you start a diary and tell us more about yourself and your goals. You will get more advice and support that way. Diary page is https://weight-loss.fitness.com/forums/weight-loss-diary.9/

And listen to LaMa, of course, she is one of our best.

I know you can do this, and am looking forward to seeing you do it!

Rob is being way too nice - I still struggle, and I binged yesterday. Anxiety SUCKS. If you sleep enough and are still tired are you sure you're not anemic? If not a little exercise and fresh air night help. If I can get myself to go for a walk when I feel crappy it almost always helps.

I think struggle should be apart of the journey.. you know if everything is smooth sailing, we won't appreciate the end result..
