hello, I'm a newbie

Just registered today, looking for some information and tips to help get me in shape. I'm not really trying to lose WEIGHT, but I'd like to lose some fat and tone/firm my muscles. I've started modifying my lifestyle, so I'm just looking for support, motivation and advice along the way.

welcome... i'm also new.. joined last night.. been reading heaps since then :p

u'll get the hang of the abbreviations as u read.. u'll understand wot they are if they use it in the right context.. ie.. when talking about ur weight.. most will say: 200lbs and 10% BF - Body Fat
 
No, I'm kinda slow. ;) LOL... I have never gotten into fitness in my entire life. I'm one of those girls who have been able to eat anything and everything all day long and never gain a pound.. until now. My thyroid is messed up, so it's taking its toll, but pushing 30 isn't helping either. So I'm not used to any fitness-related lingo. This is all new to me! I mean, yeah I could figure out BF, but a few of the others have me stumped. If I can find examples, I'll list them.
