Hi. My name is Amanda. I am 44. I have been overweight my whole life. I am trying once again to lose the weight. I had a heart attack 18 months ago. I have a stent. There was no damage to my heart. It was my wake up call.

I have lost 38 pounds. My blood pressure is normal. My blood sugar is going down steadily. I am 5'6" with a medium frame. I would like to weigh 145.

I have been stuck most of March only losing a couple of pounds. I need some support and encouragement.

I eat 1200 calories and keep my fat under 20 grams. I walk daily. I am looking toward joining the gym when finances improve. :)

I have a 22 year old daughter and two beautiful baby kitties, Duchess is 15 and Carter is 6. I am into punk and alternative music. Green Day, The Goo Goo Dolls and Good Charlotte. My other passions are Tsarist Russia, the Old West, Presidents and Tudor history. I love to read, watch old movies and go to concerts.

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi there. I also am new to this site. That's awesome that you have lost so much weight already. I too have struggled all my life with my weight and just recently having had two babies I am ready to get this weight off for good. In the last six weeks I have lost almost 45 pounds. I started this crazy grapefruit diet but lost interest after a month. Now I mostly eat protein and try to keep the carbs to under 20 a day. I drink lots of water and most of my exercise comes from housecleaning and taking care of my kids. Reading your post is an extra motivation for me to get this weight off for good. I think people often don't think about how they are at risk for serious health problems until it actually happens. You seem to be doing well. I too get discouraged when it seems I hit a plateau but I've found that switching my diet plan around a bit and bumping up the activity really helps. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll do great. I look forward to talking with you more.

Hi Sally. Wow. You have done a terrific job losing weight. Keep it up. I try to mix things up. March has just been a bad month for me. I think I am back on the right track. I hope so any way. I don't think I could do the grapefruit diet. I really don't like grapefruit. I just want something to lose a few pounds quick to get back on track and keep motivated. There are so many crazy diets out there that don't work. Or they work for awhile. Then you gain the weight back plus more. This is the most weight I have ever lost at one time so I feel really good about it. I also look forward to talking to you more.
