HI! My name is Heather Davis (just like my username lol, not real creative there
), I live in Palmer, Alaska, and am 30 years old- married with 2 sons, ages 6 and 1. a little info about me:
I have been struggling with my weight since puberty, have done Weight Watchers, Atkins, South Beach, FASTING, Metabolife, etc, and would take it off unhealthily, and go right back where I was PLUS.
I went to a weight loss clinic here and started the OPTIFAST program- I know some think its a little controversial, but it has been an EXCELLENT tool for me so far. I don't feel UBER-restricted, cause I am learning how to eat all over again, a little at a time. When I go out with friends, I trade my shakes for an actual meal- last night I went to Outback Steakhouse, while all my buddies were eating burgers and steaks, I ate a house salad sans cheese and tomatoes AND croutons, and ordered salmon and steamed veggies. I ate my salad, my veggies (except the carrots and squash), and after 2 glasses of water managed a nibble of my salmon. I WAS STUFFED. And very content. I was looking at the other plates thinking to myself that I was looking at A MONTH FULL OF CALORIES EW. That has never happened to me before. I have never had the chance to work on my issues with food, because i needed to EAT food. This gave me a chance to do that, and then gradually add FOOD back into my diet.
I had read all the negative feedback from other people who tried this diet, and found mostly that the people who didnt do well didnt change their LIFESTYLE, or even try really. They didnt work the program, they wanted the program to do all the work.
