Hello everyone

I've just paid for my Cohen's programme, went to the info session today. Tomorrow morning I get my blood taken, and next week.... the weight loss begins!

I'm worried that I won't be able to stick to it though. I have terrible sugar cravings, bingeing on enormous amounts of sugary food (even fruit). I've put on about 7kgs since Xmas, after doing fairly well on a conventional normal diet.

Will these insane sugar cravings pass? What can I do to prepare for the haul ahead?

79kgs..................................aiming for 58kgs.

Welcome to Cohen's

Welcome Desert_me:D

Cohen's programme actually soughts out the sugar cravings because the food you eat adjust your insulin levels and stops the cravings.

I think most of us here are ex sugar addicts.......Now.
I can vouch for not having anything sweet pass my lips since joining this programme.
If I do feel like something sweet due to the savouries I have the recommended soft drink allowance or gum and have practically lived on mango, peaches, nectarines and oranges.

There are also some wonderful recipes on here so peruse there as well.

You should not have any cravings on Cohen's if you follow it 100% the first 3 days of detox are hard but once you get through that then your hunger reduces until one day you realise you actully have to remember to eat.
Make sure you drink your 3 litres of water a day this is very important, take your multivitamin etc. and don't forget your crispbread.
Oh....and remember to go to bed early that is when the fatburning process occurr's.

You should lose those 7kg within the first 4 weeks - I lost 6.4kg in my first 4 weeks with only one day of devaition.

So hope this helps.
Take care and all the best.

Hi desert me

My consultant told me that chromium supplements were absolutely awesome for taking away the sugar cravings, I used it on my first time on the diet and it worked great!! Ask your consultant if she thinks it a wise thing for you to try.

Good Luck you will stick to it if you only believe in yourself and your ability to do it!!

Cheers

Hi- good luck and go for it--ive been on it for one week tomorrow.. The 1st 3 days were for me horrendous- my body ached, i had severe headaches and if i had any sugar in the sugar bowl i would have licked it----however i wasn't actually hungry and by day 3 had to make myself eat.....however by day 4 i felt wonderful and have done since----so i would advice that you get all your foods ready and avoid shops or any temptation for 3 days and go for it....My issue is now I feel so great i want to reward myself by eating a big fat easter egg that are everywhere in the shops........I dont want the choc just the lovely warm nice feeling choc used to give me.......Good luck you can do it and the food is actually really nice....:)

Hi,

I am new too and so grateful for finding this forum as no one near me has heard of this diet. I started last monday, feb 5 and lost 6 pounds in the first 7 days.:) I had to weigh myself to see if this thing really works.

Everyone is right in saying that the first few days are the hardest - especially if you have to cook for others who are not following the diet. I am the biggest sugar addict in the world. I would literally make icing and eat it. Or buy raw cookie dough and eat it. So, I know your concerns.

I think the biggest thing for me is realizing how often I would go into the kitchen to munch on something. I work from home, so that was constant. That has been the biggest trial of this past week for me.

Also, as posted elsewhere in this forum, you can't allow deviations. I experimented a little yesterday - cooked my chicken in store bought red cooking wine, and inadvertantly had 2 meal two's. Got on the scale this morning and gained 2 pounds back. Has this happened to anyone?

Anyhoo, I'm looking at my user name and it looks it says "idiot". but it's really, " I did it for me". 'cause that's what I have to do.

Looking forward to posting more and getting to know all of you. Good luck to you, original poster. I think you should do this!
