Hello, everyone

I'm Mike, from Brooklyn. I'd like to start this off with this:

The good: I've decided to lose weight after being overweight for essentially the entire 24+ years of my life up until this point. I've also already lost 9 pounds in the month and a half since I made this decision and have realized that weight loss is nothing but a numbers game.
The bad: This is not the first time I've made this decision. Also, I've had serious trouble sticking to my diet. Lost a bit of weight at the beginning, about 8 pounds, then gained a pound a week over the next 3 weeks, and have lost 4 in the last week and a half or so when I looked in the mirror and saw all my progress going away.
The ugly: I started at 223 pounds, at a height of 5'4."

I do it by doing cardio every day (30 minutes to an hour and a half of being on a treadmill or cycling outside) and going to the gym for weight training 3 times a week, as well as by trying to keep myself to under 1400 calories a day. The problem with all that is that it takes all my strength to force myself not to stop at my local Chinese food or pizzeria on my way home from work, and wait until I get home to eat healthy. Essentially, I don't need motivation to work out. I need it to stick to my diet. I'm also extremely scared of sagging skin, and would appreciate any real stories where people figured out a way to lose 70 or so pounds without skin sagging.

Welcome, Mike.

If you haven't done so already, start a journal in the Weight Loss Diary section. That's where most everybody hangs out here. Starting a journal allows other members to offer their support as they can see your progress. I mean, it's your journal so you can write about whatever you want (hell, half of MY journal has nothing to do with weight loss - it's mostly just nonsensical BS I feel like writing), but it's still a great tool to get support when you need it.

And, I'm right there with you on the whole willpower thing. It's hard to avoid that quick stop at McDonald's on the way home. But, it does get easier. As times goes on and your body gets used to a healthier diet it becomes easier to avoid those quick stops.
