Welcome to our forum, Vixxen! We are a very supportive little bunch here and I"m sure you'll love this site! You could start a diary. We always list what we ate for the day and if any of us think you could use some advice, we're always there to lend it, :) So tell us more about yourself! How much are you looking to loose? What kind of diet will you be using?

Hello everyone!! Thank you for giving me such a warm welcome. My name is Cherie and I'm 24 years old. I live in North Carolina. Yeah I'm a Southern girl :D I have been overweight for as long as I can remember. The "light bulb moment" that caused me to decided that "enough is enough" happened one day while I was getting ready to visit my boyfriend one Friday night about a month ago (he lives about 4 hours from me). I was getting dressed in front of the mirror and noticed how really horrible I look. What a special guy I have to love me for who I am and not judge me for how I look :D *hehehe*I weigh about 236 pounds at this point and would like to lose about 100 pounds. Its going to be a long, tough journey but I'm hoping to do it by July of next year!

I dont' think 100 pounds in 1 yr is unreasonable at all. What type of changes are you going to be making?? They say most people that loose weight and keep it off, go on a lifestyle change, not a "diet" you have to decide this is the way you will be eating the rest of your life. We are all here for you girl, so let us know when you need any help!

Changes I've been trying to incorporate into my life are:

1) Drink at least 8 glasses of water per day.

2) Limit my calorie intake to 1200-1400 calories per day and limiting fat to no more than 30 grams in one day.

3) Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and less processed foods

4) Eating more regularly -- 6 mini-meals instead of waiting until I get off work and eating one big meal

5) Exercise at least 30 minutes/day for now - I plan to try for more once I get a little more used to it and build my endurance
