:eek: Hello people, I just signed up today because I'm having problems making myself change my way of eating and exercising. I think the longest I've been able to stay on a weight loss plan was two weeks..:eek: ...I'm new to actually trying to lose weight, but I've learned everything you need to do (i.e. what to eat and how to exercise.) My biggest problem is changing my frame of mind to make myself stick to a plan. I always make excuses too. I guess I might be a wimp or something but I don't know what to do. :confused: Any advice is much appreciated, thank you all.

I'm right there with you. My biggest problem now is actually getting started; i know i need to, and i know what i need to do, but every morning i wake up it's always so hard to drag myself out of bed and actually make that change from plopping down in the computer chair or the couch and tie on the walking shoes. I'm a big excuse maker myself.

The only advice i can give, as cliche as it sounds, is to try your best! Even if it means sort of forcing yourself one day to get outside and start walking, or anything! At first i was always weary of that thought, but after cresting that first hill, it just gets easier and easier.
 
yep, i reckon you have to stop thinking about it and just do it. trick your mind into believing its not a big deal, and then it won't be! one meal, one day at a time..

It is very hard to change your old ways of doing things. In order to make it easier to get into exercise routine start with small goals, like walk for 10 minutes or do some small exercises for 10 minutes at home. It will be much harder to make up an exuse not to do it! You will see how easy those 10 minutes are, and before you know it, you will start increasing time and intensity of exercise, and it will become a part of your routine!

You know it takes 3 weeks to form a habit. So if you could make up your mind to get up early for 3 weeks to walk, run or go to a gym after a while you just do it out of habit. You won't ever need to force your self again. I have just started my 3rd week of getting up early every day to go to the gym and now it is definately sooooooo much easier ;)

I've found that counting calories makes it really easy for me, cuz I feel like I have more control. Plus- I write down all my waters, and that helps me keep my water intake higher :)

OK IN THE BIGGEST LOSER BOOK THIS IS WHAT THEY TELL YOU AND I HOPE THIS HELPS EACH OF YOU AS WELL AS A LITTLE ADVICE OF MY OWN HEHE iT TAKES 12 DAYS TO START A NEW HABITSO IF YOU CAN GET THROUGH THE 12 DAYS YOU ARE GOING TO BE WELL ON YOUR WAY TO SUCCESS! iF YOU CAN LOOK AT YOURSELF IN A MIRROR AND SAY I AM READY THAN DO IT BECAUSE THAT IS YOUR MOMENT OF TRUTH AND YOU ARE READY! TRY A ROUTINE OF EATING EVERY THREE HOURS BUT MOST OF ALL EXCERCISE EVEN IF YOU DONT FEEL LIKE I PROMISE YOU WILL FEEL SO MUCH BETTER AFTERWARDS! Hi, i'm a newbie...

Hi, im new and have a problem. i went from 16.7 to 15 stone over the summer (yay me!!!) but have been the same ever since july

now its MY time and im gonna do it. i cant be the biggest outta my mates! no way! its my bday this july and im gonna look fabulous... well, thats that outta the way - now here's to sticking to it!

im here to make friends and help them just as they will help me. im doing this for a number of reasons, but the main one is that i know i can be slimmer and will feel soooooo much better for it.

my target is ten stone. its not skinny, but i like 10 stone. maybe 9 and a half at a push even tho silly little calculators say i should eb 8 and half... ive never been 8 and a half and am more than happy to be a fourteen in my clothes and weight my ten stone again...

wanna be my friend??? come on peeps...

we can do it...
