I don’t need to tell you that losing weight — and keeping it off, is hard.
It’s hard carrying the weight, and even harder dealing with frustration, guilt, failure, loss of control, laziness and inadequacy.
I was bullied as a child. Because the big kids were left alone, I concluded that big was safe. I began to eat. I got bigger.. and bigger.
Eventually the bullying stopped but my eating disorder continued. Years later, my grandmother, with Type II Diabetes, had a bilateral leg amputation. That was my horrific wake up call.
Weighing in at 280 lbs at just 5’9, I made it my mission to learn everything I could about nutrition, exercise, weight loss and weight loss diets. I didn’t know anything about low carbs, keto, fats, proteins, portions or meal planning. IT TOOK ME TWO YEARS TO LOSE 100 LBS. Today, my personal goal is to stay healthy and help others to lose weight and keep it off. To reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and Diabetes. But mostly, to help people feel better about themselves. To learn how to eat for enjoyment and to live a fulfilling life.

Congratulations, that's a great achievement! I hope you'll stick around, maybe start a diary so people can see what succesful maintenance looks like, and let us share in your experience.

That is a great achievement & one to be very proud of. Losing weight & keeping it off is very hard but we can all learn from each other. Losing it slowly helps to keep it off I think. It must be sustainable & suited to us personally. Welcome to our forum, tj :)

Hey, TJ. Think about starting a diary in the forum. It's a busy place & there are lots of lovely people, who provide lots of support & encouragement. The link is at https://weight-loss.fitness.com/forums/weight-loss-diary.9/
