Hello,

First of all nice to meet ya all hope to find lots of fellow people here ;)

Atm I was wondering if someone already found the answer for themselves and can assist me in finding it. How to "force" yourself?
Im trying to eat less, less sugar, grain stuff etc tho really cant go without them with my life style ( I work in an office and like 90% of the time Im not sleeping Im near the desk) usually it goes well but when Im distracted and have just a few free minutes, I go make a coffe, cup of tea, make few small snacks (like sausage slice with slice of cheese or smth similar, trying to eat less sweet stuff but sometimes go for semolina with jam or curd with jam those very popular here from childhood.

Even if I try very hard, stay away from most of food for 2-3 days, someone from family will eventually buy smth good ( or just make huge market run for like longer time so there is lots of food to eat before it spoils) and I dont have any choice (I can say no but again, some food will get spoiled as partly it bought for me even if I dont ask) and then I eat, little by little getting back on my norm eating terms, and back to the starting point again.

Atm I have a huge weight problem (not terribly huge but its bad) I weight 115-120 (depending on the day you know...) which gives me big belly (looks like those beer belly dads have sometimes) and it looks terrible. Regarding exercises Im very limited coz of my health, cant run, cant train for long, and some methods just impossible, Im trying but it doesnt help as after 5 min of training I barely breath and like - "okay Im done for today" and then skip few days or week.

Its not comfortable for me, I know its bad for health etc, but I just cant find it in me to force it to do it. Please help me out with this somehow ;(

Hi, Sunlight & welcome to the forum. No-one else can really provide your motivation for you, I'm afraid, but we can be your cheer squad.

Hey Sunlight, welcome!

Cate is right, and I am no expert but I can tell you what I have been doing. It might help. I just did it, one day I decided to start eating better and losing weight, and one day at a time I have been able to stick with it. Simple as that. Well maybe not so simple. I got a whole lot of advice and support from the cheer squad here, including Cate. It took me a while to find the right foods, nutritious, filling, and low calorie, but by trial and error and with the support of folks here I have been pretty successfully muddling a long. The only secret I have is only trying to commit to one day at a time, most of us can do it for a single day. Keep doing that and over time all else will take care of itself.

I did not exercise at first, I lost almost half of my weight before I started. Most of weight loss comes from eating right, not exercise. I did start exercising gradually at first and now do it pretty regularly. The exercise has really helped me feel better and I am sure it has added at least some to the weight loss. I started out heavier than you are, if I can do this I know you can. Nothing particularly wise or special about me, nothing you don't have.

Now I suggest you start a diary on the weight loss diary page https://weight-loss.fitness.com/forums/weight-loss-diary.9/ you can tell us more about yourself and your goals, and get started. Can you eat right tomorrow? I'll bet you can!

Hi Sunlight and welcome!
First off, out of curiosity: are you talking about kilos or pounds? Second: motivation has to come from the inside but you can make things easier for yourself. Veggie sticks (carrots, celery, sugarsnaps, cauliflower florets, cucumber... whatever you like), a rice cake, or a piece of fruit, with a measured amount of nut butter, cheese spread, or hummus makes for a good snack which actually keeps you full for a while. Maybe if people bring you things from the grocery store even if you don't want anything you can redirect their kindness toward things that are good for you (like the aforementioned things). The bigger the difference between what you'd really want to be eating and what you're actually having the harder it is to keep at it long-term. And the best diet can only help long-term if you can stick with it.
