Be Watchful!

Hi Bonbon.

First things first. You talk about all of the snacks,
hamburger, and foods that you have around the
house. This is one place you need to begin.

Not only should you pay attention to the calories, but
also to the fat content. You sound like you are
probably putting a few too many calories into
your body. That is why we gain weight.
You need to expend more calories that you eat.

Next, you need to use some of that exercise
equipment that you have just sitting around.
Letting it collect dust is not going to help you.

My suggestions:
1. Begin taking note of everything you
eat and drink, from that glass of water to
the hamburger and rice. (also watch your
portions)

2. Set an exercise schedule. You don't
have to work out 8 hours a day. Begin slowly.
Even 15 minutes a couple of times a day, for
3 or 4 days a week will help you get started.
As you feel better, you can increase your time.
Set aside a specific time to exercise. If you don't
it will just be a hit and miss thing.

thankyou rbates

i know i dont take in many calories per day,i do portion my food, ill cook up chicken breasts and veggies and the ill get out my 2 cup tupperwares and fill each 1 to about 1 cup thats what i take to work with me,ill also take cut fresh veggies in a baggie with me,for a treat i will take jello cups.same with the hamburger, but sometimes ill add rice.the reason i have the 100 calorie nabisko snacks is for when i wanna treat,a couple of those in a day isnt too bad i thought seeing they are only 100 calorie.also i do use my treadmill just not every single day,i find i get bored of it after 10 min though, sometimes ill use it twice a day to get that workout in,i burn over 100 calories each time i use it so i thought that was good.

usually in a typical day i will eat my chicken and veggies, which is about 200 cal if that, all bran cereal which is 150 cal and another 90 for milk, lunch might be soup or ichiban which is not even 200 cal.maybe some juice throughout day,and at the most one coffee per day, also a few snacks, add 200 or 300 cal for that,or i might have a pickle and cheez slice with a bit of butter sandwhich for supper or lunch instead, with the bread i buy and low fat cheez slice thats only 160ish cal.so really in a day thats only 1000 to 1200 cal intake, and like i said on top of the treadmill i walk or fastwalk in a busy lounge for 8 hours a night.

haha u would think with that id be good to go,its frustrating

Keep it going

Hi BonBon.

It is good to see that you are keeping close tabs on
what you are eating. I know that it can be really
disconcerting when you try to do the right things
and yet things seem to be at a standstill.

Our bodies do not all respond in the same way to
our efforts. You will want to remember that when
you reduce calorie intake, you body will go into a
defensive mode and try to keep you from losing.
It is the old plateau thing. Having said that, I still
stand by what I said at first. If you continue to eat
fewer calories than your body uses you will lose
weight.

So, here is another suggestion. Since you do not
like the treadmill much, when the weather becomes
more agreeable, take your walking outside. I
personally cannot stand running (or walking) on the
treadmill. So I am in full agreement with you on
that matter. Also, try to find some other type of
aerobic activity that you can do instead of just
walking. Dancing, cycling, or even an aerobics class
with others might be more to your liking.

Also, I would suggest adding a couple of muscle toning
exercises to your daily routine. These do not need
to take up large amounts of time, but they will
help your muscles to burn off the calories in a
more efficient manner. [email address removed]

I hope this helps.
